BLUE BUTTON Website Program

May 8, 1996

The day FORD placed their first Flaming Ford related
FULL PAGE AD in the Wall Street Journal.

The day we started our Blue Button Program.

The intent of the program is simple. We want to demonstrate that one individual with the right of FREE SPEECH can compete on a level playing field with a huge corporation that has millions of dollars to spend on advertising with the intent of shaping public opinion.

Why?

Because Ford has made it clear that it has no intention of issuing a
comprehensive recall to cover all 26 MILLION vehicles.

To kick off the program, we requested the assistance of the people that REALLY run the Internet - the cream of the crop, so to speak. These are the same people that manage and oversee the day to day operations of most Internet Service Providers.

Yes, we sent unsolicited e-mail to about 8,500 people. Some have called this a "SPAM."
But, these were very special people. And, we believe HOW we did this should be recognized as an example of a responsible exercise of our right to FREE SPEECH.

Further, we hope that the precedent we have set provides an outline of what is acceptable behavior under specific circumstances where the focused distribution of information is clearly in the best interest of the general public.

  • If you are interested in the POSITIVE results associated with this program, Click Here.  [Dead Link]

Our request is simple and straightforward. All we ask is that anyone that is concerned about this issue add our BLUE BUTTON to their Web page with a link to us to help inform the public. In exchange, we'll add a link to your Web page as a recognized Blue Button site.
